Statistics from the Illinois Department of Transportation report 18,677 vehicle crashes in DuPage County in 2009, with 23 fatalities. Wheaton is home to the Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, a nonprofit teaching hospital, which serves both children and adults in the DuPage County area.
