Wheel Chair Ramp Built to Improve Lives of Two North Chicago Women

NORTH CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – The lives of two North Chicago residents will forever be improved tomorrow after the unveiling on their new wheel chair ramp built and paid for by the Ramp Up Foundation. Without this ramp, two young women with physical disabilities would not easily and safely be able to go to work and school each day.
Stephanie and Shvonne have lived in the same North Chicago household for the last couple of years and although not biologically related, they consider themselves sisters. Stephanie has Cerebral Palsy and Shvonne has Charcot Marie Tooth Syndrome. Shvonne came to live with Stephanie and her mother a couple of years ago. Both young ladies are great friends and look out for each other while “mom” is at work. The Ramp Up Foundation is cutting the ribbon of this ramp on May 6th at 10:00 a.m. at 1800 Jackson, North Chicago Illinois. The family, members from the Ramp-Up Foundation and the law firm of Salvi Schostok & Pritchard who helped sponsor the building of this ramp, will be on hand to celebrate.
The United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Chicago established a program called the Ramp Up Foundation in —with the primary goal to provide home access to eligible people with disabilities who own their own residences but are otherwise unable to afford the cost of needed modifications.
