Woman Run Over Twice by Truck Sues Abbott Laboratories
Lawsuit Filed After Suffering Massive Internal Injuries
COOK COUNTY, IL – A personal injury lawsuit was filed on April 25, 2011, in Cook County by the law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., on behalf of a 31-year-old woman who was horrifically injured while walking from her car in the parking lot of Abbott Laboratories.
In the early morning of April 6, 2011, Shannon Rosberg of Lindenhurst, Illinois, an employee of Collins Consulting at Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, Illinois, sustained severe personal injuries while walking into an Abbott office building. According to the police report, while the truck was reversing the driver felt a “slight resistance,” which was Shannon. To the horror of witnesses and the screams of Shannon, instead of stopping the truck to determine what had been hit, the driver carelessly decided to pull forward running over her body a second time.
Shannon suffered massive internal injuries including a crushed pelvis, several broken ribs and significant injuries to her internal organs. She was in a coma but will likely survive her doctors said.
“The police report and statements from witness accounts all show that the defendant driver was negligent. Abbott Laboratories also failed to protect the people going from the parking lot to their building,” said Patrick A. Salvi, the Rosberg’s family attorney. “The Abbott truck driver was negligent, the company was negligent…and we intend on proving that in court.”
