John A. Mennie

John A. Mennie was named an associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2016 after working at the firm as a staff attorney since 2014.  He concentrates his legal practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death cases.

Mr. Mennie received his law degree from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his Bachelor’s degree in History from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. While in law school, Mr. Mennie served as a legal extern for the Office of the Washtenaw County Public Defender and clerked for a prominent plaintiff’s personal injury firm where he worked on a wide variety of cases including medical negligence, products liability, and whistleblower claims.  His academic accomplishments include two awards for the highest grade in Federal Administrative and State Administrative Law.

In 2017, Mr. Mennie was named a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers.

In 2016, Mr. Mennie obtained an $18.5 million settlement on behalf of a child who suffered serious brain injury due to a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of meningitis. Earlier that year, Mr. Mennie obtained a $1.6 million verdict in a wrongful death case, the highest recorded verdict in Stephenson County.

Additional credentials and distinctions John Mennie holds include: memberships in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Mennie is also a member of the City of Waukegan Chamber of Commerce.
