Toddler fatally struck by truck in Kane County
CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. (May 23, 2017) – A 2-year-old boy was killed Monday morning after he was struck by a pickup truck in the northwest suburbs.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Deer Creek Drive and Rosewood Drive in Carpentersville around 9:43 a.m.
According to a report from CBS 2 Chicago, the truck came to a rest in a retention pond after fatally striking Levi Cruz.
ABC7 Chicago reports the fatal accident occurred in front of Cruz’s mother, who is pregnant.
Cruz was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The condition of the driver of the pickup truck has not been released.
The Carpentersville Police Department says an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
