Patrick A. Salvi II is the Managing Equity Partner of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard and one of the state’s most accomplished and respected trial attorneys. Since joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Salvi has recovered more than $2 billion for individuals and families affected by catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, wrongful death, mass torts, and product liability. His record of success includes some of the largest plaintiff jury verdicts in Illinois, including multiple record-setting results in cases involving medical negligence, toxic exposure, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death.

Mr. Salvi has served as lead counsel in some of the most significant and closely watched cases in the firm’s history. In 2022, he was the lead attorney on a trial team that won a $363 million jury verdict for a woman who developed breast cancer after exposure to toxic emissions from a medical sterilization plant in Willowbrook, Illinois. At the time, the verdict was the largest jury verdict ever awarded to an individual plaintiff in Illinois. As co-lead counsel in the litigation, Mr. Salvi later served as lead negotiator for global settlements totaling $456 million for nearly 900 additional plaintiffs.

In 2026, Mr. Salvi again led a trial team to win one of the largest verdicts in Illinois, obtaining a $241 million jury verdict for the family of a Missouri man who died while transporting dry ice as part of his work as a courier. The verdict includes $49.5 million in compensatory damages and $191.5 million in punitive damages. His other landmark results include a $148 million jury verdict for a young dancer who was paralyzed when a pedestrian shelter collapsed on her at O’Hare International Airport and a $79.85 million verdict for the family of a 10-year-old girl who was killed in a crash stemming from an unauthorized Chicago Police Department pursuit.

Other noteworthy results include a $75.85 million jury verdict for a child who suffered severe injuries at birth and a $52 million jury verdict for the family of a father who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that also left his adult son seriously injured. He has also negotiated numerous multimillion-dollar settlements, including a $210.25 million wrongful death settlement and a $60.7 million wrongful death settlement.

Mr. Salvi’s accomplishments have earned him recognition among the country’s leading trial attorneys. In 2024, he was invited to join the Inner Circle of Advocates, an invitation-only organization limited to 100 trial lawyers nationwide whose members are selected based on their record of securing multimillion-dollar verdicts and their commitment to representing victims. In 2025, he was selected to Lawdragon Legends, a list of Lawdragon’s most esteemed members who have been recognized repeatedly among the 500 leading lawyers. Only 28 attorneys nationwide were honored that year. He has also been named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” in Chicago for either Personal Injury Law and Medical Malpractice Law in 2022, 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. Additionally, in 2023, Mr. Salvi was named “Person of the Year” by Chicago Lawyer Magazine, primarily for his work on the Sterigenics litigation and for his efforts as President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers in amending the wrongful death statute to include punitive damages when a defendant’s conduct was reckless or intentional.

In 2025, Mr. Salvi received the “Plaintiff Attorney Achievement Award” from the Jury Verdict Reporter and Law Bulletin Media, recognizing Illinois plaintiff attorneys who have secured numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements and demonstrated exceptional trial results. He has also received the Trial Lawyer Excellence Award five times, the American Association for Justice’s “Above and Beyond Award” twice, and the organization’s “Wiedemann and Wysocki Award” for his commitment to the association. Earlier in his career, he received the American Association for Justice’s F. Scott Baldwin Award, presented annually to one of the country’s most outstanding young trial lawyers.

Mr. Salvi’s influence extends beyond his work on behalf of his clients. He served as President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association from 2022 to 2023 and remains active in the organization as co-chair of its Publications Committee and a co-author of its Medical Malpractice Trial Notebook. He is also a member of the American Association for Justice’s Board of Governors and serves on the AAJ PAC Board of Trustees. He regularly shares his experience with other attorneys through seminars and CLEs and has served as a judge in American Bar Association and American Association for Justice trial competitions.

As the firm’s Managing Equity Partner, Mr. Salvi also plays a central role in shaping the continued growth, success, and future of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard. He is committed to ensuring the firm’s attorneys have the resources, skills, and support necessary to deliver the highest level of advocacy for every client.

Mr. Salvi earned his bachelor’s degree with distinction from the University of Colorado in 2004 and his law degree cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2007. While at Notre Dame, he received an award for excellence in trial advocacy from the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Outside the courtroom, Mr. Salvi enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling, attending his children’s sporting events and activities, and playing guitar.
