Michael J. Schostok

Michael J. Schostok joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2019. He concentrates his legal practice on cases involving catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, and products liability.

Mr. Schostok has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a Rising Star every year since 2021, Leading Lawyers by Law Bulletin Media as an Illinois Emerging Lawyer, and by Best Lawyers as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch honoree since 2022.

Mr. Schostok has obtained a number of noteworthy verdicts and settlements for his clients, including a $15 million personal injury settlement and a $2.3 million prove-up verdict award. In one of his first jury trials with the firm, Mr. Schostok won a $3.73 million verdict for a man who was injured when he was struck by drowsy driver who drifted onto the sidewalk.

Prior to being named an Associate, Mr. Schostok worked as a law clerk at the firm. During his tenure as a law clerk, he worked on numerous high-profile cases and trials. Before that, Mr. Schostok was a law clerk at another prominent Chicago personal injury law firm for two and a half years.

Mr. Schostok received his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2019. During law school, Mr. Schostok was a member of Chicago-Kent’s nationally-renowned trial advocacy team.

Mr. Schostok received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2016. He is the son of late Partner Michael P. Schostok and is humbled to be working at the firm that shares his namesake.

Mr. Schostok belongs to several national, state and local legal organizations, including the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He is a board member of the Michael Matters Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those diagnosed with various forms of brain cancer.
