Emily T. Art is an Associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard who represents individuals and families who have been impacted by catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, and wrongful death. Since joining the firm as a law clerk in 2022 and becoming an attorney in 2023, Ms. Art has quickly gained valuable courtroom experience while building a reputation for thoughtful advocacy and commitment to her clients.
Although Ms. Art is still relatively early in her career, she has already obtained significant results for her clients. In her first trial with the firm, she was part of a litigation team that won a $12.2 million jury verdict for a semi-truck driver who suffered serious injuries in a crash on I-70. The verdict was the first plaintiff’s verdict on record in Fayette County, Illinois. Just a few months later, she presented a key witness in a Cook County jury trial that resulted in a $10.5 million verdict for the family of a kindergarten teacher who was killed after being struck by a speeding dump truck. In 2026, Ms. Art helped obtain a $22 million settlement for the family of a 25-year-old man who was killed in a West Side crash stemming from an unauthorized Chicago Police Department pursuit. Later that year, she obtained a $26 million settlement for a pedestrian who suffered a traumatic brain injury and other physical injuries after being struck by a truck while crossing a downtown Chicago intersection.
Ms. Art’s experience with complex litigation began before she became an attorney. As a law clerk at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, she assisted a trial team that secured a record-breaking $363 million jury verdict in the first trial against medical sterilization plant Sterigenics. She also worked on a medical negligence case that resulted in a $32.7 million jury verdict for a man who had to undergo a foot amputation due to a delayed diagnosis of a blood clot. The verdict is the highest Illinois verdict for the loss of one leg or foot, according to the Jury Verdict Reporter. On the same day the jury reached its verdict in that case, Ms. Art learned she passed the Illinois bar exam.

Before joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, Ms. Art worked as a law clerk at a prominent Chicago personal injury law firm, where she drafted legal documents, managed case files, and communicated with clients throughout the litigation process.
Ms. Art graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and history from Clark University in 2017 and earned her law degree with honors from the UIC School of Law in 2023. While in law school, she served as Finance Chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and received the merit-based D. Mann Scholarship and the “Top Grade Award” in Civil Procedure II.
Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Art enjoys cooking and baking and cycling along Chicago’s lakefront.
