John A. Mennie joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2014 and was named Partner in 2025. He concentrates his legal practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death and mass tort cases.
Throughout his time with the firm, he has recovered more than $250 million on behalf of his deserving clients.
In his first trial with the firm, Mr. Mennie obtained a $1.6 million verdict in a wrongful death case, the highest recorded verdict in Stephenson County. In recognition of his outstanding work on the trial, Mr. Mennie was honored with a Trial Lawyer Excellence Award presented by the Jury Verdict Reporter, a division of Law Bulletin Media.
Mr. Mennie has also obtained a number of noteworthy verdicts and settlements throughout his time at the firm. In 2026, Mr. Mennie obtained a $21 million settlement for a newborn that sustained a permanent brain injury due to medical negligence at birth. In 2019, he secured a $20 million settlement on behalf of a woman who sustained a life-changing injury after being involved in two car accidents and a surgical complication following the crashes. Mr. Mennie has also helped obtain an $18.5 million settlement on behalf of a child who suffered serious brain injury due to a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of meningitis.
Mr. Mennie received his law degree from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School and his Bachelor’s degree in History from Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada. While in law school, Mr. Mennie served as a legal extern for the Office of the Washtenaw County Public Defender and clerked for a prominent plaintiff’s personal injury firm where he worked on a wide variety of cases including medical negligence, products liability, and whistleblower claims. His academic accomplishments include two awards for the highest grade in the classes of Federal Administrative and State Administrative Law.
