Heidi L. Wickstrom is a Partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard who represents clients impacted by catastrophic injuries, medical negligence, product liability, and wrongful death. Since joining the firm in 2018, Ms. Wickstrom has recovered more than $425 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of her clients. With trial experience in both New York and Illinois, she brings a broad perspective to her cases.
Prior to Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, Ms. Wickstrom spent 11 years practicing at a prominent New York litigation firm, where she represented plaintiffs in cases involving some of the country’s largest corporations and public entities. During her time in New York, she obtained a $15.7 million verdict against Consolidated Edison of New York and $10 million and $5.4 million verdicts against the New York City Transit Authority. She also handled appellate matters before New York’s First and Second Departments of the Appellate Division. She obtained her first solo jury verdict just two months after being admitted to practice in New York.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Wickstrom has continued to obtain meaningful results for her clients. In 2024, she was part of a trial team that won a $75.86 million jury verdict for a young girl who suffered a brain injury and severe physical injuries at birth, requiring lifelong care. She was also part of a trial team that obtained a $50.3 million jury verdict for a child who suffered a severe and permanent brain injury after a delay in the diagnosis and treatment of hypoxia before his birth.
Ms. Wickstrom is passionate about strengthening the trial bar and sharing her knowledge with other attorneys. She is deeply involved in the American Association for Justice, where she has taken on numerous leadership roles. In 2020, she was elected to AAJ’s Board of Governors and later served as chair of the organization’s Professional Negligence Section. She has also served on AAJ’s FAIR Committee, which encourages engagement among trial lawyers, including members of underrepresented groups; the Convention Planning Committee; and the Section Leaders Committee. She remains active in AAJ’s Professional Negligence, Motor Vehicle and Premises Liability, Medical Negligence, and Birth Injury and Trauma groups. She has lectured at a number of AAJ conferences and has written articles published in AAJ’s Trial magazine. From 2008 to 2018, she served as the New York Regional Chair for AAJ’s Student Trial Advocacy Competition, helping train and mentor the next generation of attorneys.
Beyond her extensive involvement with AAJ, Ms. Wickstrom serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Ms. Wickstrom’s accomplishments have earned her consistent recognition from various respected legal guides. She was named one of Law Bulletin Media’s “Top Women in Law” in 2025 and received a “Trial Lawyer Excellence Award” from Law Bulletin Media in 2024. She has repeatedly been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list and has been selected as one of the “Top 50 Female Super Lawyers in the State of Illinois.” She has also been recognized by Best Lawyers and named a Leading Lawyer by Law Bulletin Media.
Ms. Wickstrom graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 before earning her law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 2007. During law school, she served on the Executive Board of the Moot Court Honor Society and worked as a law student intern at a boutique personal injury firm.
Outside of the courtroom, Ms. Wickstrom enjoys playing and watching sports, traveling, exploring the city, and spending time with her dog, Jack.
