CHICAGO (June 19, 2025) – A private ambulance crashed into a CTA bus in South Loop on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. with both vehicles traveling south on the 1100 block of South Michigan Avenue and East Roosevelt Road, WGN-9 reports.
The Chicago Transit Authority bus headed southbound was seen to have rear-end damage, the private ambulance with front-end damage. It is not yet known what led to the rear-end collision.
Seven people were taken to local hospitals, where they were treated for minor injuries, Chicago police reported. Two men on the bus, ages 23 and 25, and one 23-year-old woman were taken to Rush Hospital; two other men on the bus, ages 73 and 32, were taken to Stroger Hospital; and two others were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the crash, ABC-7 reports.
