CHICAGO (July 1, 2026) – The Illinois law firm of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, P.C. has been retained to represent a 27-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in a fatal boating collision on Lake Michigan near Monroe Harbor on June 25.

Jason Grady has retained attorneys Patrick A. Salvi II, Lance D. Northcutt and Kristen M. Stoicescu to investigate the incident and pursue any appropriate legal action. He suffered serious injuries in the collision, which also claimed the life of his 26-year-old friend.

The five occupants aboard the smaller vessel, including Mr. Grady, were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. One female passenger was pronounced dead early Friday morning.

“Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard has already begun a thorough investigation to determine exactly what caused this tragic collision and who may be responsible,” attorney Patrick A. Salvi II said. “Our hearts go out to the family of the young woman who lost her life, as well as everyone else affected by this devastating incident. As our investigation progresses, we intend to pursue accountability on behalf of our client and any other victims who pursue legal action. We will provide additional information when appropriate.”

“Our family is devastated by this tragedy and heartbroken for the Gregory family and Johanna’s loved ones,” Mr. Grady’s family said in a statement. “We are grateful Jason is beginning his recovery, and we deeply appreciate the support, care and prayers we have received.
