Attorneys Patrick A. Salvi II of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., and Parker G. Stinar of Stinar Gould Grieco & Hensley, PLLC, who represent former Northwestern student-athletes, released the following statement in response to a provisional settlement reached between the Plaintiffs and the University:

“As was reported during a recent hearing, we have entered into a provisional settlement between our former student-athlete clients and Northwestern University. While the terms of the provisional settlement are confidential, we intend to continue to work through the remaining outstanding issues to finalize a settlement that will hopefully allow both sides to move forward in a positive way.”

Hazing in College Sports

Mr. Salvi and Mr. Stinar filed the first lawsuit in the litigation in July 2023 on behalf of a former Northwestern University football player who was subjected to sexualized hazing and physical abuse. Prior to the provisional settlement, the attorneys were set to take the first group of cases to trial in Cook County in November of 2025 on behalf of 5 former football players.
