Lawsuit: Plane hit, flipped woman’s vehicle in deadly crash
LAFAYETTE, La. (June 10, 2020) – A Louisiana woman was seriously injured when a plane hit her vehicle, causing it to flip several times and catch fire, according to a new lawsuit filed over the December crash.
According to the lawsuit, the Plaintiff was surprising her husband with breakfast when her vehicle was hit outside the post office where her husband was working. He didn’t realize she was there when he ran outside after the crash.
“As [he] was videoing the crash site, he suddenly noticed his wife screaming and crying in pain,” the lawsuit states.
The Plaintiff suffered burns to 30% of her body and is suing the owners, pilot and insurers of the plane for injuries, pain, lost wages and emotional trauma.
The plane crash killed five people, including a sports reporter who was also the daughter-in-law LSU offensive coordinator.
