Transcript:

My name is John Mennie and I am an associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. I practice plenty of personal injury, handling medical negligence and catastrophic injury cases. I did my undergrad in history at Queens University, that’s in Kingston, Ontario, and I went to law school at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. I wanted to get into law to advocate for victims who have been harmed by the negligence of others, to help be a voice for somebody that does not have one. I like doing claims work because you are working with a client and you are helping somebody through what’s a very tough point in their life. Usually they have horrific injuries and you get to help them and hopefully you have a positive case result and you really get to see the difference that you make into somebody’s life.

Working with the clients and helping them through difficult times is something that makes it easy to come to work. And it’s enjoyable. We get to, you know, interact daily, weekly, monthly, depending on the case with the client, and it’s something that you are helping somebody through a tough time, and so it’s very rewarding to come to work.

I like being an attorney because I get to advocate for our clients. And if somebody is coming to you with a problem and you get to figure the best way to come to a solution, whether that’s filing a lawsuit, just trying to resolve it beforehand, working with their insurance companies and, you know, you get to make an immediate difference. Well, Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., has a great a reputation, and I wanted to work for a firm that was handling tough cases, they are taking cases where other firms might not want to take them because it’s either too expensive to litigate, it’s not a guarantee, and they are really a firm that believes in protecting victims’ rights, and that’s something that I believe in and it’s very important to me as well.
