Matthew L. Williams joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2003 and was named partner in 2009. Mr. Williams concentrates his practice of law in the areas of medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and premises liability.
In his time with the firm, he has recovered more than $550 million on behalf of his clients, including serving as lead counsel in two medical malpractice cases that resulted in jury verdicts of over $50 million dollars – a $75.8 million verdict on behalf of a young girl who suffered a brain injury and severe physical injuries at birth, and a $50.3 million jury verdict for a child who suffered a severe and permanent brain injury at birth.
In 2025, he won a $20.5 million jury verdict on behalf of a little girl in remission from leukemia who died due to morphine toxicity from medications prescribed by her healthcare providers.
Mr. Williams is a member of many local and national bar associations, including Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He currently serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Community engagement is a priority for Mr. Williams. He is currently on the board of directors for three local charity organizations, including Kids Above All, Raising a Reader, and the Michael Matters Foundation. Additionally, he has been a speaker at Kellogg’s School of Management’s MBA Business Law class and has argued before the Illinois Supreme Court.
